NClosure Treated Hardwood poles, used in conjunction with High Tensile Wire can provide a long term solution to permanent fencing. For shoring up waterway banks and verges, canal side work, and sensitive wetland area's etc UNTREATED posts are available, although the Tan E treatment is not proved to migrate, and may be suitable.

Alternatively Creosote treatment can be specified, although this is only permitted to be used by legislation , for certain commercial applications by professional contractors please request further information.

Treated softwood poles can occasionally be seen to prematurely rot , snap off at ground level and end up being "held up by the wire". High tensile and Galvanised wire has a projected lifespan that will out perform some ordinary treated softwood stakes. NClosure treated hardwood stakes will give maximum performance, and a long life and are perfect companions to performance high tensile and tight lock styles of wire.

treated softwood poles less than 10 years old often fail due to rot .

Woodlice eat away at the damp timber fibres and create caverns, contributing to posts which do not last as long as the wire that is being supported.

The replacement including labour and materials should be considered when costing up against using treated NClosure Hardwood Poles for permanent fencing and waterside shoring up work.

The end grain clearly shows the beautiful annular growth rings of the Eucalyptus Grandis, a hardwood species.

Natural splits occur which in no way affect the strength or integrity of the timber poles and is quite normal.

Strength tests of the NClosure Hardwood Fence Posts show that both the fibre and bend test characteristics of the wood is far stronger than softwood, and is similar to that of Oak and Chestnut.
