Wooden Sheep Hurdles as a temporary pen.
NClosure Wooden Sheep Hurdles can be used to produce a simple to erect, temporary pen.
These Portable, and traditional Sheep Hurdles can also be used to enhance the Garden, and make small animal penning for various animals and pets.

Wooden Sheep Hurdles keep it in the "Fold"
Sheep folding was the means of containing sheep whilst block feeding field roots to minimise spoilage in the days before electric fencing.
Based on the traditional wooden hurdles used for "Sheep Folding", these NClosure Sheep Hurdles are produced from hardwood , which is also treated with Tan-E for superior extra long life. The components are screwed together, providing a rigid construction. |

Wooden Sheep Hurdles
In production the Wooden Sheep Hurdles are jointed, then screwed together for a durable construction, and are supplied fully assembled, with outdoor waterproof barcoded labels.

Garden Hurdles
The Wooden Sheep Hurdles can also be used to great effect in the Garden and can easliy be installed in minutes as they have their own pointed legs included.
Use a tree stake or low wooden peg to provide extra support if required.

Small Animal Penning
The Wooden Sheep Hurdles can also be used to create animal enclosures by simply attaching suitably sized chicken wire or mesh.
Like the traditional hurdles our Priddy Hurdles can easily be stored, or can remain outside permanently as they are suitably pressure treated which has no arsenic in the treatment, so is suitable for small animal penning and pets. |

Setting up Hurdles as a pen.
Traditionally the shepherd would have had his trusty metal fencing bar with a point one end and knob the other end, he carried the hurdles 4 at a time on his shoulder by hooking the bar under the rails, then arriving at his new location used the bar to make a hole in the ground .
The term "folding" the sheep into the new pen usually on winter roots, meant hinging the hurdles round three at a time creating a new feed area, without having to release the flock and getting them back in again.
He tied up the corners using sisal cord or wire.(before poly baler twine was invented!) to secure them.
